Speaking when the company unveiled the channel, StarTimes Regional Marketing Director Mr. Aldrine Nsubuga noted that the introduction of W-Sports channel is a major milestone and significant boost to women sports across different disciplines and goes to demonstrate the broadcaster’s keen interest in a rich and diverse sports offering for its subscribers.

“Women sports have not received as much sports coverage in the past, we are now changing this by availing a dedicated channel to focus on different sports disciplines where we will deliberately focus on major tournaments that will definitely build interest among our subscribers,” noted Mr. Nsubuga.

The channel joins an enriched sports offering from the broadcaster including Sports Premium (HD), World Football (HD), Sports Life, Sports Arena and Sports Focus as well as ESPN, ESPN 2 and Manchester United TV.
