Kabogo Assumes Office as ICT Cabinet Secretary, Pledges Digital Reforms

Newly sworn-in Cabinet Secretary for Information, Communications, and the Digital Economy, William Kabogo, has officially taken office.

The handover ceremony was held on Saturday, January 18, 2025, at the Ministry Headquarters in Nairobi, where Kabogo succeeded Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi, who had been serving as Acting ICT CS since December 2024.

Speaking, Kabogo highlighted his dedication to advancing Kenya’s digital transformation agenda.

He described the ministry as a key driver of job creation and economic growth.

“Our accelerated journey to a digitally connected Kenya starts now,” he said, reaffirming his commitment to implementing reforms that would enhance digital connectivity and foster economic opportunities.

“This ministry is central to driving wealth and job creation, and I am committed to collaborating with the team, Cabinet colleagues, and stakeholders to achieve this vision,” Kabogo added.
