Bodaboda Rider Throws Hat in the Ring for Matungulu West MCA Seat

A Malaa based bodaboda operator, Fredrick Okoth, has formally declared his interest in contesting the Matungulu West MCA seat in Machakos County.

Okoth, who made the announcement during a meeting with residents on Sunday, said he is ready to offer the ward “servant leadership that puts people first.”

The seat is currently held by Raphael Lucky Nzau of the Wiper Party.

Residents who spoke to The Voice.co.ke alleged that the incumbent, popularly known as Lucky, had “abandoned the electorate” and failed to deliver on key development areas.
They claimed that road infrastructure, water access, and the installation of mulika mwizi street lighting to enhance security had stagnated under his leadership.

With Matungulu West being a cosmopolitan ward bordering Nairobi County, Okoth said he intends to champion inclusive development and restore trust between the leadership and the people.
