A police operation in Vihiga County today morning led to the arrest of an Embali based officer after a search in his rented house uncovered cannabis and assorted ammunition.
A police report seen by *Daily News Kenya-International* inducates that OCS Embali and a team of officers raided the residence of the officer a Constable PC at around 8.40am following public allegations that he had earlier fired a live round and discharged a tear gas canister at Buyangu Trading Centre.
The officer, who was found asleep during the raid, was subjected to a thorough house search.
Officers recovered two brooms of cannabis sativa packed in a green paper bag, nine rounds of 7.62mm ammunition, and five blank cartridges of the same calibre hidden in a paper bag.
All exhibits were documented in an inventory signed by the officers and the suspect before he was placed in custody.
The case is now under active investigation by DCI Emuhaya, with inquiries underway into both the alleged misuse of ammunition and possession of narcotics.
