Prominent Kibra-based Chief Executive Officer, businessman and philanthropist Nicholus Okach has unveiled an ambitious social empowerment plan aimed at transforming the lives of residents of Kibra Constituency in 2026. Speaking during a community engagement forum in Kibra early today, Okach said his organisation will significantly expand its education support programme by offering bursaries to needy students across the constituency.

He said education remains the backbone of long-term development and vowed to ensure that no child from a poor background misses school due to lack of fees.

“I want to assure Kibra residents that the era of waiting for bursaries that are issued selectively to favoured friends and cronies is over.Omoh Foundation our educational program we will give bursaries to every needy student in the constituency,” Okach said.

He admitted that the foundation did not fully meet its education targets this year but noted that plans are already in place to scale up the programme in 2026.
In a move to address food insecurity, Okach announced that the foundation has partnered with one of the country’s major millers to access maize flour at a subsidised cost. He said the flour will be purchased by the foundation and distributed to vulnerable households and the special interest groups including persons with disabilities within Kibra.

“No one in Kibra should go to bed hungry,” he said, adding that the initiative will prioritise the most affected families.

The CEO also turned his attention to sanitation challenges in the densely populated settlement, saying persistent garbage problems must be addressed urgently.

He stated that mechanisms have been put in place to ensure timely waste collection and disposal to improve public health and living conditions.

For years, Okach has been a familiar figure in Kibra, traversing various villages within the constituency while offering humanitarian support, relief items, and standing with residents during times of crisis.

He has openly declared his intention to challenge the sitting Kibra Member of Parliament, Hon. Peter Orero, positioning himself as a grassroots alternative rooted in community service.

As the political temperature gradually rises ahead of the 2027 General Election, Okach’s growing influence and expanded social programmes are expected to shape the conversation around leadership and development in Kibra.
