Drama as Anti-Corruption Lobby Takes Aim at Kibra MP Over Alleged Smear Plot

A storm is brewing in Kibra after the lobby group  announced plans to address the media over what it terms as a “calculated scheme” by the area Member of Parliament to tarnish the reputation of a rising political aspirant.

In a media alert issued ahead of the briefing, the organisation claimed it has gathered credible information pointing to an alleged plot involving misinformation, character assassination, and possible abuse of office aimed at undermining the unnamed aspirant’s growing influence within the constituency.

The press briefing, expected to draw significant attention, comes amid heightened political tensions in Kibra Constituency, a region historically known for its fiercely contested political landscape.

According to the lobby, the alleged scheme not only threatens the integrity of local leadership but also raises broader concerns about the misuse of political power to silence competition.

“We cannot allow democratic space to be poisoned through propaganda and underhand tactics. The public deserves transparency and accountability from its leaders,” part of the statement read.

The group further hinted at presenting documentary evidence and testimonies that could implicate key actors in what it describes as a coordinated effort to manipulate public perception ahead of upcoming political activities.

Efforts to reach the Kibra MP for comment were unsuccessful by the time of publication.

Political analysts say the development could escalate tensions on the ground, especially among youth groups and grassroots mobilisers who play a crucial role in shaping opinion in the constituency.

This unfolding saga is likely to intensify scrutiny on political conduct in Kibra, as stakeholders await the revelations expected during the press briefing.
