TECNO is set to deepen its push into artificial intelligence with the planned beta launch of EllaClaw, a mobile AI assistant designed to simplify how smartphone users handle everyday tasks.

The new technology, built on the OpenClaw framework, will be introduced through Ella, TECNO’s inbuilt digital assistant. Once activated, EllaClaw operates across the phone’s system, allowing users to carry out several actions with a single request.

The company says the innovation is aimed at making artificial intelligence practical for ordinary smartphone users, particularly in markets such as Kenya where mobile devices play a central role in communication, business and access to services.

“EllaClaw was designed to remove the complexity often associated with AI tools. We want users to interact with their phones naturally and let the device handle the steps in the background,” TECNO said while announced

Through the assistant, users will be able to give simple instructions that trigger a chain of actions on the device. A short command can organise schedules, manage files or set reminders without the need to move between different applications.

The system also connects data from several apps including SMS, calendars and notes. By bringing this information together, the assistant can help users keep track of important alerts and daily activities without manually checking each application.

TECNO says one of the features being introduced is a smart SMS organiser that sorts incoming messages, identifies important notifications and highlights updates that may require immediate attention. Messages considered less important can also be flagged for clearing, helping users keep their inboxes organised.

Another feature provides a daily briefing that combines calendar events, personal notes, weather information and selected news updates in a single summary that appears on the phone.

The company says the assistant gradually adapts to each user through a memory system that observes patterns in phone usage. As it learns these habits, the tool can provide reminders and suggestions that align with a person’s routine.

TECNO maintains that the system was built with strong safeguards to protect personal information. User data, the company says, remains protected within the device and is not accessible to outside parties without permission.

The introduction of EllaClaw comes as smartphone manufacturers increasingly invest in artificial intelligence as a way to improve device performance and user experience.

The Company recently introduced the CAMON 50 Series in Kenya, a device lineup designed to enhance productivity and smartphone performance. The addition of EllaClaw is expected to expand those capabilities by giving users a more responsive digital assistant.

Kenyan users are expected to be among the first to test the new technology once the beta program begins. TECNO says further details about participation and availability will be shared in the coming months.
