DP Gachagua Pledges Unwavering Fight Against Drugs and Illicit Brew

Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has vowed that the national government will continue its relentless battle against drugs and illicit brews, emphasizing that the fight will not falter.

Gachagua made the statement during a visit to Githunguri, where he offered his condolences to Kiambu Senator Karungo wa Thang’wa and the Mitahato Community following the loss of Thang’wa’s brother, Martean Wainaina Thang’wa, and sister-in-law, Penninah Wanjiru.

During his visit, Gachagua highlighted the importance of ongoing efforts to combat the illegal trade.

“We must protect our children from the dangers of drugs and illicit alcohol,” he said. “As a committed leader, I promise that we will publicly name and shame those who are responsible for peddling these harmful substances.”

He  added, “Our fight against these illegal activities must continue without interruption. We need to work together as a community to overcome this challenge,” Gachagua added.

In addition to addressing the drug issue, Gachagua spoke on regional unity, urging the Mount Kenya region to rise above tribal divisions and support the government’s efforts.

His visit was accompanied by several notable figures, including Murang’a Governor Irungu Kang’ata, Senate Majority Leader Aaron Cheruiyot, and various Senators and MPs from across the region.
