Clause Masika to Likuyani Residents: I Will Fix the Mess After August Polls

Renowned city journalist Clause Masika has vowed to spearhead a new era of development in Likuyani, assuring residents that he is ready to tackle the constituency’s long-standing challenges if entrusted with leadership after the August polls.

Speaking during a series of meetings with residents, youth groups, traders and local opinion leaders, Masika painted a picture of a constituency that has lagged behind despite its vast economic and agricultural potential.

He argued that years of poor leadership, misplaced priorities and lack of accountability have left many residents struggling with inadequate infrastructure, limited employment opportunities and poor public services.

“I have listened to the concerns of our people, and it is clear that many feel neglected and left out of the development agenda. After the August polls, we shall begin the difficult but necessary task of fixing the mess and restoring hope to our communities,” Masika said.

The journalist-turned-politician identified youth unemployment as one of the most pressing issues affecting the constituency, saying many young people have been left without opportunities despite possessing the skills and energy needed to drive economic growth.

He pledged to champion initiatives aimed at equipping young people with practical skills, supporting small businesses and attracting investors to create jobs within the constituency.

“Our young people deserve opportunities to succeed. Leadership should be about opening doors, creating jobs and ensuring every youth has a chance to build a better future,” he said.

Masika also promised to prioritize the improvement of road networks, healthcare facilities and education standards, noting that development should not be concentrated in a few centres but reach every village across Likuyani.

According to him, residents deserve leaders who remain accessible, listen to their concerns and focus on delivering tangible results rather than empty promises.

“Our people deserve leaders who listen, leaders who work and leaders who put public interest ahead of personal gain.

The time has come for a new chapter built on transparency, accountability and service,” he added.

His remarks have continued to generate political interest across the constituency, with supporters describing him as a fresh voice capable of bringing new ideas and renewed energy to local leadership.

Political observers say Masika’s growing appeal is largely driven by his reform-focused message, which centres on development, inclusivity and responsive leadership.

As campaigns gather momentum ahead of the August polls, Masika has urged residents to turn out in large numbers and support leaders committed to transforming the constituency.

“The future of Likuyani is in our hands. Together, we can build a constituency that creates opportunities for all and leaves no one behind,” he said.

The race for leadership in Likuyani is expected to attract significant attention, with development, accountability and youth empowerment emerging as key issues likely to dominate the political conversation in the months ahead.
