Newsline Media Expands PR and Technology Attachment Programmes

Newsline Media & Training Agency has announced the expansion of its hands-on journalism training and professional attachment programmes aimed at helping bridge the skills gap facing graduates in communication, media, and technology fields.

Founded on the belief that practical experience is just as important as classroom learning, the agency is strengthening its mentorship and training programmes to better prepare young professionals for the realities of today’s workplace.

Speaking during an interview, Managing Director Faith Mukundi said the expansion is intended to transform how media and corporate communication skills are taught and applied in Kenya.

She emphasized the importance of ethical and practical learning environments that prepare students for real-world challenges.

“Our vision is to build a strong, ethical, and innovative media community that produces credible stories while empowering the next generation of journalists. We wanted to address the gap between classroom theory and real-world media practice. Many media students graduate with knowledge of journalism principles, but they often lack practical skills, mentorship, and confidence in the field. Newsline was created to bridge that gap through training, coaching, and hands-on media experience.”

The expanded programme combines industry exposure with close mentorship to help trainees build confidence, practical skills, and professional networks before entering the job market.

In addition to journalism and media production, Newsline Media now offers structured attachment opportunities in Public Relations, Information Communication Technology (ICT), Cybersecurity, and Data Science. The programmes are designed to give students access to practical experience that is often difficult to find within traditional academic settings.
