Youth groups identifying with the Gen Z movement in Likuyani Constituency are set to endorse city journalist Clause Masika as their preferred candidate for the forthcoming parliamentary race.
The planned endorsement comes amid claims that several key political allies of the incumbent Member of Parliament, Hon. Innocent Mugabe, are preparing to defect and join Clause Masika’s political camp. These claims have not been independently verified, and Hon. Mugabe or his representatives had not publicly responded at the time of publication.
According to the organizers, the endorsement ceremony will be held this weekend and will be followed by a series of youth engagement meetings across Likuyani Constituency. The forums are expected to provide young people with an opportunity to discuss leadership, development priorities, employment, entrepreneurship, education, and their role in shaping the constituency’s future.
Supporters say the initiative is aimed at mobilizing and empowering young voters ahead of the next general election, while giving them a platform to engage directly with Masika and his team on issues affecting the constituency.
Political observers say the endorsement could add momentum to the constituency’s evolving political landscape as political alignments continue to take shape. Masika has recently increased his ground engagements to popularise his bid and is currently gaining popularity as the vote big day nears.
