Omohhomes Chief Executive Officer Nicholus Okach has been declared the Real Estate Person of the Year 2025, following a closely contested public vote that saw more than 8,300 ballots cast across the country.
Final results show Okach securing 3,680 votes, narrowly edging out fellow industry leader James Nd’ungu, who finished with 3,460 votes. Alfred Ogota came in third with 1,234 votes, rounding off one of the most competitive races in the award’s recent history.
The tight margins have drawn attention across Kenya’s real-estate sector, where Okach has been credited with championing transparency, investor education, and trust-building within the off-plan property market.
Speaking just before the close of voting, Okach said he was encouraged by the strong show of support from both investors and the public.
“I’m hopeful for a win,” he said earlier, noting that the backing from the Omohhomes community had been overwhelming.
Under Okach’s leadership, Omohhomes has evolved into a full-service real-estate firm offering project vetting, property selection, mortgage support, investor onboarding, construction oversight, interior-design coordination, and long-term property management.
The company has also gained recognition for its real-estate education podcast, “What Experts Have to Say,” which brings together developers, lawyers, financiers, designers and policy specialists to help Kenyans make informed property decisions.
With over 250 investors served locally and globally, Omohhomes has positioned itself as a trusted partner for both diaspora and domestic clients seeking verified real-estate opportunities.
Analysts say Okach’s victory coming after one of the most hotly contested editions of the award reflects a growing public appreciation for brands that prioritize transparency and investor awareness in a market long challenged by misinformation and delayed delivery.
The winners will be formally honoured at an awards ceremony scheduled for February 2026 where Okach is expected to receive his trophy and address industry stakeholders.
