BLUETTI Donates 1,000 Solar Power Systems to Kenya Red Cross for Displaced Families in Baringo

BLUETTI, a global leader in clean energy solutions, has donated 1,000 solar power systems to the Kenya Red Cross(KRCS) through its ‘Lighting an African Family’ (LAAF) program.

This generous contribution will support displaced families in Baringo County, Kenya, where ongoing conflicts and natural disasters have severely impacted local communities.

“The Kenya Red Cross has this week distributed them to communities in Baringo North, Baringo South and Tiaty East & West.

These areas face significant challenges in accessing reliable power due to conflict, floods and geographic isolation,” the KRCS said in a post on X, with photos from the field.

“The solar lamps will provide essential lighting and enable families to charge their phones, improving communication and access to vital information, including early warning messages.”

This donation is the latest piece in BLUETTI’s big picture of lighting up 1 million off-grid African families with clean solar energy through its LAAF program, which was launched in 2021.

The initiative reflects the company’s determined mission to provide clean and dependable energy for all people.

“Everyone deserves access to electricity,” said Archie Yang, head of BLUETTI’s LAAF program. “Through LAAF, we’re not just providing light—we’re empowering off-grid communities to improve education, business, and quality of life with clean, renewable energy.”

To date, BLUETTI’s LAAF program has illuminated over 15,000 households across 11 countries, including Nigeria, Tanzania, and Malawi.

With BLUETTI’s solar kits—comprising solar panels, batteries, lights, and cables, families now have safe lighting at night, students can study after dusk without relying on dangerous kerosene lamps, and small businesses can operate effectively with reliable power.

BLUETTI’s efforts go beyond immediate relief. At the 12th World Urban Forum (WUF12), the company announced a strategic partnership with the United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat) to accelerate solar adoption across Africa.

Leveraging decades of expertise in solar and energy storage, BLUETTI plans to equip local communities with sustainable energy solutions and crucial knowledge, paving the way for a brighter, more resilient future for Africa.
