Boda Boda Rider Witnesses Shocking Shooting in Mavoko

Police in Mavoko,Machakos County, are investigating a tragic murder incident that occurred today at the Flight View area near the Barrier in Athi River East Sub-county.

According to a report filed at Mavoko SNP Police Station under OB No. 16/11/10/2025 at 1400 hours, a boda boda rider identified as Nixon Cheruiyot reported that his client, Samuel Mwangi Maina, was fatally shot following a confrontation involving two men.

Cheruiyot told police that he had been hired by the deceased to transport him to the Flight View area.

Upon arrival at Farah’s gate, Mwangi called a man identified as Farah to open the gate.

Moments later, Farah appeared accompanied by another man.

The two reportedly confronted the deceased over a missing gate.

Farah allegedly grabbed Mwangi by the neck as his companion slapped him repeatedly.

The report further indicates that Farah drew a pistol and threatened to shoot the deceased.

It added that the second man then snatched the pistol and fired two shots into the ground, warning Mwangi to reveal the whereabouts of the missing gate.

According to a report made,the gunshots attracted a large crowd, forcing the assailants to flee on foot.

The mob pursued them, but before being cornered, the unidentified man turned the gun on the group and shot Mwangi in the left side of his chest, fatally wounding him.

The deceased was rushed to Veteran Hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

Police have since arrested Farah, who is in custody assisting detectives from the DCI Mlolongo with ongoing investigations.

The crime scene was processed and documented by forensic officers, and the case remains pending under investigation (P.U.I).
