Deputy President Kithure Kindiki has reiterated the Government’s commitment to strengthening ties with religious institutions, emphasizing their crucial role in fostering peace, social justice, and national cohesion.
Speaking during a meeting with bishops and senior ministers from the Full Gospel Churches of Kenya (FGCK) and the African Independent Pentecostal Church of Africa (AIPCA) in Embu, Kindiki acknowledged the church’s influence in shaping moral values and promoting harmony in society.
“The Government appreciates the role of the church in promoting peace and harmony in the society, and the advancement of social justice and cohesion.The Government will continue respecting the prophetic role of the church and will maintain close ties with the church and other faith institutions to ensure that the nation’s moral values are preserved for the benefit of present and future generations..” Kindiki said.
Religious leaders present lauded the Government’s recognition of the church’s role in national development and called for continued collaboration in addressing social challenges.
They reaffirmed their commitment to working with the Government to foster unity, peace, and ethical leadership.
The meeting underscored the Government’s dedication to engaging faith-based organizations as key partners in nation-building, with both parties expressing optimism that such collaborations will lead to a stronger and more cohesive society.
