Nairobi County Committed to Reclaiming and upgrading our public spaces; Patrick Analo says

Nairobi County Chief Officer in Urban Development and Planning Hon Patrick Analo has said that the county Government is Committed to reclaiming and upgrading spaces from Stadiums to Parks.

Speaking to the press early today, Analo said that social Amenities were key and important in issues related to urban planning and development.

” Urban planning is key for the development of any city in the world and that is why the County Government of Nairobi is working day and night to upgrade both Uhuru Park and green park to make them beautiful and workable.

Analo added that, some people were urging Governor Johnson Sakaja to introduce some fees to those visiting the said parks the idea he completely rejected.

” Some people were urging the governor to introduce some fees to those visiting the said parks the idea the governor rejected. As you are aware, Sakaja believes that Uhuru park belongs to the residents and forcing some levies on them would be a bad idea,” said Analo.

Analo urged Kenyans not to destroy the Parks and other facilities contracted by the county government adding that the it was a big loss to the government.

He further added that the county government has spends a lot of resources in putting up and maintaining the said facilities.

” I want to urge everyone including those who come to town to protest not to damage our facilities. For instance, both Uhuru Park and Green Park are maintained by the county Government of Nairobi and Governor Sakaja is keen to making things in the city work,” Analo added.

Additionally, Analo added that, the County Government was also investing in stadiums and social halls and most of them were nearing completion.

” We are constructing a stadium in Kangemi and in Woodley, the County Government is also repairing some social halls in the city, for instance Dandora stadium is now fully completed and operational,” he added.

The Chief Officer, Urban Development has played a critical role in shaping the developments and activities in his own docket.
