Several Nairobi County staff members questioned and at least eight vehicles impounded in connection with the dumping of garbage at Kenya Power’s Stima Plaza headquarters on Tuesday.
The incident followed a dispute between the Nairobi County Government and Kenya Power over an outstanding electricity bill, which led to disconnections at county offices earlier this month.
Speaking on Thursday, Interior CS Kipchumba Murkomen said suspects had been arrested following a report made to the police.
He described the act as reckless and a public health risk, adding that security agencies responded immediately by detaining those involved and seizing vehicles used in the operation.
DCI has been tasked with compiling a report within seven days, with public health and environmental agencies also expected to assess the potential risks posed by the incident.
