Premium single malt whisky brand The Singleton partnered with the Grill Squad to deliver a sold-out culinary spectacle during the 5th edition of Meat-Up Fest, held on March 9 at Naipei Gardens in Limuru, Kiambu County.
The event attracted more than 1,200 meat enthusiasts, all drawn by a shared love for expertly grilled cuisine and immersive outdoor dining. Guests indulged in a variety of meat dishes prepared in diverse styles, each thoughtfully paired with The Singleton whisky, which flowed freely throughout the day.

Speaking at the event, Simon Lapyem, Brand Manager for Singleton East Africa at , praised the overwhelming turnout and the growing appreciation for curated food experiences.
“The event being sold out by Thursday just shows how much Kenyans enjoy good food. It is a consumer experience that brings people together in open spaces to enjoy well-cooked meat,” he noted.
The Grill Squad, known for elevating Kenya’s barbecue culture, had set up a day in advance, ensuring every detail was perfected for the ultimate meat-lovers’ experience.

Among the standout experiences was the Maasai Village, hosted by grill expert , popularly known as the Barbecue Bandit. His signature Bandito Fire Kiss — a Singleton-infused sauce — became a crowd favourite, adding a bold twist to traditional meat cuts.
Renowned pitmaster , celebrated for his “low and slow” technique, delivered expertly smoked pork and beef dishes, reinforcing the event’s reputation as more than just a food festival.

Chef also impressed guests with her creative approach, pairing juicy tomahawk steak with cinnamon pineapple for a unique flavour profile that highlighted the versatility of modern grilling.

The Singleton enhanced the experience by offering complimentary cocktails to the first 200 guests, encouraging attendees to explore whisky pairings with grilled dishes.
