Sonko Warns Aspirants Against Fake Nominations in NEDP

Former Nairobi Governor and NEDP leader Mike Sonko has reaffirmed his party’s commitment to democratic nominations, warning aspirants against anyone claiming to offer direct entry into party tickets.

“There will be NO direct nominations in our party. All aspirants must go to the ground, mobilize voters, and be nominated through a fair and open process,” Sonko said.

Sonko emphasized that NEDP belongs to all Kenyans, not a few officials, and promised decisive action against anyone attempting to mislead candidates.

The move comes as the party seeks to ensure transparency and fairness ahead of upcoming elections, encouraging aspirants to engage directly with voters rather than relying on shortcuts.

By putting the focus on grassroots participation, Sonko is sending a clear message that true democracy starts from the community level, reinforcing the party’s principles and commitment to accountability.
