Lawyer Danstan Omari comes to the defend of Lugari MP Nabii Nabwera, vows to sue bloggers linking him to the Murder of a Local teacher

The Lugari Member of Parliament (MP), Nabii Nabwera, has threatened to sue three bloggers over defamatory statements against him that were published on online platforms.

MP Nabii states that bloggers Opunga Tamata, Simon Asievela, and Peter Amunga, through their blogs, published statements linking him to the death of Munyuki High School principal, the late Simon Isiaho Shange.

According to the MP, the deceased was his close friend until he mysteriously went missing, and it later emerged that he died on November 3, 2025, in a road accident along the busy Eldoret–Malaba highway.

The legislator avers that the statements published on their platforms are false and inaccurate, adding that the publications are injurious to his reputation in the constituency and across the country.

He also states that the publications are malicious and ill-intentioned, aimed at tainting his name and record in the constituency in a bid to drag his name through political mud masterminded by his opponents.

Through his lawyers, Danstan Omari and Martina Swiga, Nabii now wants the three bloggers to admit liability for having lied, besmirched, and inaccurately posted defamatory statements against him.

Further, he wants the three to pull down the said publications from their blogs and any other platforms where the statements have been published within 12 hours.

“Pull down, erase, and cause to disappear from your blog sites and all other platforms the defamatory statements you publicised,” part of the demands read.

Notably, MP Nabii wants Tamata, Asievela, and Amunga to offer an unequivocal apology in the same manner, with the same vigour and verve with which they defamed him, on all platforms upon which they publicised the said statements.

The legislator is also seeking compensation of KSh20 million from each of them for the damage caused by the said publications linking him to the death of the deceased.

The demand letters to the three bloggers also reveal that failure to meet the said demands within 12 hours will result in MP Nabii moving to court to sue them.
