Digital Push Pays Off as ABC Bank Clinches Customer Experience Crown

ABC Bank has been named the Best Bank in Customer Experience among Tier 3 banks at the Think Business Awards, held on Friday in Nairobi.

The recognition highlights the bank’s growing reputation for delivering customer-focused financial services in Kenya’s competitive banking sector. In addition to the top honor, ABC Bank was also named first runner-up in Best Bank in Internet Banking and second runner-up in Best Bank in Sustainable Corporate Social Responsibility.

The 2026 awards were held under the theme “Building strong, well-capitalised and fairly priced banks,” celebrating institutions that combine financial strength with tangible value for customers.

Speaking after receiving the award, ABC Bank Group Managing Director Shamaz Savani said the recognition reflects the bank’s transformation strategy. He noted that the institution has been investing in digital platforms such as its internet and mobile banking solutions, alongside corporate social responsibility initiatives aimed at supporting businesses and communities.

“This recognition affirms our commitment to building a resilient, digital-first bank that translates financial strength into real value for our stakeholders,” Savani said.

Think Business Limited Chief Executive Officer Ochieng Oloo commended participating institutions and signaled upcoming changes to the awards process. He revealed that the organization is piloting an artificial intelligence tool to improve the quality of submissions, with plans to roll it out next year.

Chief Judge Priscillah Mogaka said this year’s competition attracted 160 submissions evaluated by a panel of experts. While entries showed progress in areas such as digital transformation, capital growth and ESG reporting, she noted that some banks lacked sufficient supporting data and clear evidence of customer impact.

The latest win adds to ABC Bank’s consistent performance at the awards. In 2025, the bank was recognized as the Most Customer-Centric Bank, while in 2024 it was named second runner-up in both Best Bank to Borrow From and Best Bank in Product Marketing categories.

The 2026 accolades reinforce the bank’s ongoing efforts to strengthen operations, enhance service delivery and expand digital innovation in response to evolving customer needs.
