EXCLUSIVE: Gen Z Activists Fault MP Orero Over Alleged “Illegal” Presser, Say He Is Out of Order

A group of Gen Z activists has accused Kibra MP Peter Orero of orchestrating what they describe as a “fake” and politically motivated press briefing, which they claim is aimed at undermining the work of a popular local figure known as the CEO and linking a firm associated with him to alleged illegal activities.

In a strongly worded statement, the youth group said the recently concluded presser forms part of a broader scheme to discredit their preferred candidate amid rising political activity in the constituency.

“We are going to storm his office in the coming days and bring him to order. We want fresh and clean politics, not this one they want us to play,” the group stated.

The activists reaffirmed their support for the CEO, insisting their endorsement was made in good faith and remains unchanged despite what they termed as threats and intimidation.

“We decided to support the CEO in good faith, and that remains our stand. The MP has gone ahead threatening and intimidating us. Let us meet him and his team in the coming days—we will teach him a lesson,” they added.

Their remarks come shortly after MP Orero held a press briefing in which he made allegations that the group says painted the CEO in a negative light.

The youth group further warned that any attempts to drag young people into what they described as “manufactured scandals” would be firmly resisted.

They noted that the current generation is more informed and less susceptible to political manipulation.

They also called on leaders to shift focus to issue-based campaigns and avoid personal attacks that could inflame tensions among supporters.

Political observers say the escalating exchange underscores deepening divisions within Kibra’s political landscape, with youth groups playing an increasingly active and vocal role in shaping public discourse.

As both sides dig in, attention now turns to whether the situation will de-escalate or spiral into further confrontation, raising concerns over tensions in the constituency.
