City journalist and Likuyani Constituency political aspirant Clause Masika Wekesa has declared that he is ready to “fix the mess” in the constituency and usher in a new era of leadership ahead of the 2027 General Election.

Masika made the remarks while speaking during a burial ceremony in Likuyani Constituency, where he interacted with residents and mourners.

The journalist, who has increasingly become visible in the constituency’s political landscape, said the 2027 election presents residents with an opportunity to demand leadership that is focused on development, accountability and improving the lives of ordinary citizens.

Masika said his ambition is not simply to occupy a political office but to provide leadership that responds to the challenges facing the people of Likuyani.

“I am ready to fix the mess in Likuyani. The people deserve leadership that listens to them, understands their challenges and delivers practical solutions,” Masika said.

He said his priorities would include empowering young people and women, supporting education, creating opportunities for local economic growth and pushing for projects that have a direct impact on residents.

Masika also called for greater public participation in matters affecting the constituency, saying residents should have a stronger voice in determining development priorities.

According to the aspirant, political leadership should be measured by what it delivers to the people rather than the promises made during campaign seasons.
He urged residents to carefully evaluate all candidates seeking their support in the 2027 polls and choose leaders based on their ideas, commitment and ability to serve.

Masika further said he intends to maintain regular engagement with residents across the constituency, arguing that effective representation requires leaders to remain accessible to the people.

His remarks come as political activity begins to gather momentum in Likuyani ahead of the 2027 General Election, with several aspirants expected to intensify their grassroots engagements in the coming months.

The burial ceremony provided Masika with an opportunity to extend his condolences to the bereaved family while also addressing residents on his political vision.

He maintained that Likuyani has enormous potential and can achieve greater development if its leadership prioritises unity, accountability and long-term projects.
Masika said he is prepared to work with residents to build what he described as a more prosperous and empowered Likuyani.
