IRA Boss Given 24-hour Demand Notice Over Directline Assurance Saga

Lawyer Danstan Omari has issued a demand letter to Insurance Regulatory Authority (IRA) commissioner Godfrey Kiptum for him to remove the names of four suspended Directline Assurance shareholders’ names and the immediate correction of the CR12 form.

In a hard-hitting demand letter, Omari warned Kiptum of serious legal repercussions if he fails to comply with the said court orders.

The respected advocate said the commissioner was in cahoot with the individuals working to illegally take over the company.

” We note that your actions have completely ignores court orders granted by justice Mabeya and installed non-shareholders as directors. These individual conmen’s aim is to plunder the company’s assets and divert contributions,” said the tough talking Omari.

He added that the original and genuine shareholders are Royal Credit Samsoni Plc warning CR12 contains illegal shareholders.

Omari further added that the company has so far incurred a loss of over Sh7billion and directed Kiptum to correct the mess with speed.

He further said in a letter that Dr. SK Macharia has written to the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission urging it to investigate Kiptum and other IRA officials for alleged abuse of office.

” Court orders have been issued but there are still individuals purporting to hold these positions. Commissioner Kiptum must ensure the correct beneficiaries are reflected in the CR12 form,” Lawyer Shadrack Wambui emphasized.

This comes after earlier this month, four senior management staff were placed on compulsory leave for allegedly refusing to authorize payments.

According to the court papers, the board in question includes: Kenneth Ndura, Maina Mwangi and Titus Karanja who are said to have assumed office on October ,4, 2024
