Deputy President Kithure Kindiki has announced new road construction projects in Kinangop Constituency, Nyandarua County, as the government advances its plan to tarmac 1,000 kilometres of roads in the county at a cost of Sh46 billion.
Kindiki made the announcement on Monday, October 26, 2026, after witnessing the commencement of works on the Mwenda Andù–Heni–Karati road.
He said tarmacking of the Kwa Waichangai–Kinja–Kitiri–Kitogo road was also scheduled to begin during the week, while works on three other roads in the constituency were already underway.
The ongoing projects include the Njabini–Sasumua Dam Road, Chobe–Matundura Road and Haraka–Karangatha–Kinamba Road, all at different stages of completion.
Kindiki said improved road infrastructure would stimulate economic activity by supporting agriculture, facilitating trade and improving the delivery of services.
He added that sustainable funding had been set aside to ensure the projects are completed within the planned timelines.
The Sh46 billion programme is expected to improve connectivity across Nyandarua County, where better roads could ease the transportation of farm produce, improve access to markets and strengthen links between rural communities and commercial centres.
The progress of the projects will depend on timely implementation and the completion of the targeted road network.
