Kibra Member of Parliament Peter Orero has declared he will not seek a third term, instead throwing his support behind Ommoh Foundation boss, popularly known as the CEO, ahead of the 2027 General Election.
Addressing residents in Makina on Monday morning, the legislator told a charged crowd that the time had come for a leadership transition, urging voters to rally behind a new generation of leadership.

“It has come a time where leaders should be contented with the terms they have served. I will remain grateful to you for giving me the opportunity to serve as your MP,” Orero said.
“But today, I take this chance to present to you my able and hardworking son, Bwana CEO, so that he can continue serving you in the coming polls.”
In a strongly worded declaration, the second-term MP framed his decision as a deliberate break from leaders overstaying in office.
“Leadership is not a lifetime entitlement—it is a responsibility with a season,” he said.
“I have served my time, and I refuse to cling to power when Kibra deserves fresh energy and bold direction.
Today, I am not just stepping aside; I am deliberately handing over the mantle to a proven, results-driven leader—the CEO—who has the vision, the courage, and the connection with the people to take Kibra to the next level.”
Orero also signalled an active role in his preferred successor’s political journey, revealing that he will accompany the CEO in public engagements across the constituency as part of a transition process.
“I will be walking with him across Kibra to ensure a smooth transition. He is my undisputed choice for the next Member of Parliament,” he added.
The endorsement is expected to reshape the political landscape in Kibra, a constituency known for its competitive elections.
By backing the CEO early, Orero appears to be consolidating support and influencing succession dynamics ahead of the 2027 race.
The CEO, a philanthropist linked to grassroots initiatives through the Ommoh Foundation, is yet to formally declare his candidacy but has in recent months increased his visibility within the constituency.
Orero’s announcement sets the stage for what is shaping up to be a high-stakes political contest in the constituency.
